May 5, 2025SLADEA Executive Secretary Unveils New BftW-CPS National Coordinator for Sierra Leone

The Executive Secretary of the Sierra Leone Adult Education Association (SLADEA), Mr. Bamike Williams, formally introduced Adenike Antonia Cole as the new Bread for the World supported Civil Peace Service (CPS) National Coordinator for Sierra Leone. This was done during the Network’s security meeting for Heads of Partners, Seconded Personnel and Security Focal Persons on 3rd April, 2025 SLADEA’s Project Office, 29 Jones Street, Freetown.
Unveiling the new National Coordinator, Mr. Williams informed partners that sometime in 2024, Bread for the World released an advertisement for the aforementioned position, and after interviews were conducted, Madam Cole emerged as the most favourite candidate among many who had applied to serve in a fulltime capacity.
Adenike is a Social Development Worker with 20 years working experience. Since 2013, she has been serving as one of the two consultants of the EED CPS Unit that later became Bread for the World. As a community mobiliser, trainer, advocate, lobbyist and peace builder, Madam Cole has worked extensively in the promotion of the rights of women and young people, anti-corruption, peace building and arms control across Sierra Leone.
After her recruitment, Adenike was earlierintroduced to partners via email from the BerlinOfficebyMadam Sybille Frideres, Program Manager, Personnel Services West Africa & Civil Peace Service Mano River Region Personnel Service for Global Cooperation Unit. On behalf of her Office, Sybille expressed heartfelt gratitude to Adenike for her dedication to the network and peace work in the Mano River Region, and wished her well in her new engagement.

The CPS Partners in Sierra Leone also congratulated their new Coordinator, and wished her success in the delivery of her tasks. They committed themselves to supporting her through and through to ensure the achievement of the Programme’s objectives.
Adenike thanked Mr. Williams and partners for their positive thoughts, and requested all for their usual support to ensure the achievement of the overall goals of the network. She added that like any other human being, she is not without mistakes, but was open to positive criticisms and advise for better performance.
Adenike Cole was recruited as CPS National Coordinator on 1st January, 2025, and currently coordinates a network of 13 partners in Sierra Leone with six Seconded Personnel.
