Action Report on youth violence in Sierra Leone

While the specific manifestations and triggers of violence vary by region, common themes reflect broader national challenges faced by young people across the country.

In Sierra Leone, youth violence is often referred to as “unrest” and includes criminal activities such as physical assaults, theft, political clashes, and gang-related activities. In some cases, it is linked to deeper societal issues such as economic disparities, unemployment, and abuse of political power.
