Cette rencontre a abouti \u00e0 une d\u00e9claration ambitieuse visant \u00e0 trouver des solutions aux multiples crises qui affectent la r\u00e9gion des Grands Lacs africains. Organis\u00e9 par le R\u00e9seau d&rsquo;Innovation Organisationnelle (RIO), avec le soutien de Brot f\u00fcr die Welt et de FECCLAHA, ce Forum sur la Paix a mis en lumi\u00e8re les d\u00e9fis actuels et esquiss\u00e9 des pistes concr\u00e8tes pour restaurer la stabilit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Discussions were dominated by participants\u2019 concerns about the persistence of conflicts, particularly in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). These conflicts, exacerbated by local armed groups and external interventions, have plunged the region into a deep crisis with dramatic social, economic and humanitarian consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Forum's final declaration underscored the dangers these conflicts pose to the future of millions of people and warned of their devastating impact on future generations: \"The consequences for populations and States are catastrophic and threaten the future of several generations,\" it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants identified 11 strategic priorities for building peace, including strengthening security and ensuring the protection of human rights, promoting inclusive and democratic dialogue for sustainable stabilization, promoting sustainable economic development to reduce poverty and create opportunities for youth, and implementing transitional justice to address past wrongs and combat impunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Renforcer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et garantir la protection des droits humains<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Favoriser des dialogues inclusifs et d\u00e9mocratiques pour une stabilisation durable<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Encourager un d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique durable afin de lutter contre la pauvret\u00e9 et offrir des perspectives aux jeunes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mettre en place une justice transitionnelle pour r\u00e9parer les torts du pass\u00e9 et lutter contre l\u2019impunit\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the Forum's key recommendations was a strong call for the lifting of the state of emergency imposed on Ituri and North Kivu in eastern DRC since May 2021. Participants also called for an immediate ceasefire and strict respect for state sovereignty and peaceful dispute resolution mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The declaration also strongly condemned the continuing impunity in the region and urged governments to step up efforts against armed groups and the illegal exploitation of natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Forum a \u00e9galement soulign\u00e9 l&rsquo;importance d\u2019un soutien renforc\u00e9 de la communaut\u00e9 internationale pour mettre fin aux ing\u00e9rences des multinationales dans les conflits locaux. Les participants ont insist\u00e9 sur le respect des int\u00e9r\u00eats des populations locales et ont appel\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin des pratiques \u00e9conomiques pr\u00e9dateurs : \u00ab Les acteurs ext\u00e9rieurs doivent cesser d\u2019alimenter des \u00e9conomies de pr\u00e9dation et respecter les besoins des communaut\u00e9s locales \u00bb, ont-ils d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Achieving lasting peace in the Great Lakes requires a collective and multifaceted effort. The Forum stressed the importance of greater involvement of local communities, youth and women in decision-making processes, and of strengthening local institutions to rebuild trust between governments and their citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En conclusion, la d\u00e9claration adopt\u00e9e \u00e0 Dar-es-Salaam rappelle que la paix dans les Grands Lacs n&rsquo;est pas un objectif utopique, mais bien une perspective r\u00e9alisable gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des actions communes et inclusives. Les engagements pris lors de ce Forum marquent un tournant vers une r\u00e9gion plus stable, prosp\u00e8re et solidaire.
