In subgroups where a representative of one ethnic group sat opposite a representative of another, participants discussed what they appreciated and disliked about each other. The subgroups were thus formed: A1 (Moura-Mada), A2 (Toupori-Muyan), B1 (Matal-Kanouri), and B2 (Podoko-Ouldeme). Following the discussions, both positive and negative beliefs were revealed. Here are some of the feedback from the groups.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"577\" alt=\"C:\\Users\\DELL\\Pictures\\Screenshots\\image DUPLEIX 3.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/peaceworkafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/c-users-dell-pictures-screenshots-image-dupleix-3-1.jpeg\" class=\"wp-image-12786\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peaceworkafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/c-users-dell-pictures-screenshots-image-dupleix-3-1.jpeg 1280w, https:\/\/peaceworkafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/c-users-dell-pictures-screenshots-image-dupleix-3-1-300x135.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/peaceworkafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/c-users-dell-pictures-screenshots-image-dupleix-3-1-1024x462.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/peaceworkafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/c-users-dell-pictures-screenshots-image-dupleix-3-1-768x346.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/peaceworkafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/c-users-dell-pictures-screenshots-image-dupleix-3-1-150x68.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/peaceworkafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/c-users-dell-pictures-screenshots-image-dupleix-3-1-960x433.jpeg 960w, https:\/\/peaceworkafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/c-users-dell-pictures-screenshots-image-dupleix-3-1-1200x541.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/peaceworkafrica.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/c-users-dell-pictures-screenshots-image-dupleix-3-1-480x216.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width:767px) 480px, (max-width:1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Muyans are said to be:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 perceived as very wicked and deceitful.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 organized and supportive of one another, but not of other ethnic groups.<\/p>\n<p>The Tuporis:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 dislike associating with other ethnic groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 practice the &#8220;s\u00e1&#8221; ritual too much, which breeds mistrust.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 do not attend funerals.<\/p>\n<p>As for the Mada:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 are said to be very proud of others and stingy.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 supportive of one another and wise.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the Moura:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 They dislike other ethnic groups adopting their practices, traditions, and rituals.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 They do not want others to evolve.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The Moura feel abandoned and neglected.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A Moura cannot marry a Mada without being banished from their community.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the Kanuri, they<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 would always seek to dominate others.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 They would be perceived as very wicked, hypocritical, and merciless.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 If you don&#8217;t speak their language, they would consider you a &#8220;Kirdi,&#8221; even if you are Muslim, and they would only share everything with their own people.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the Podoko, they would be:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 sociable, but would tend to eliminate those who are spiritually evolved out of jealousy.<\/p>\n<p>The Mandara would be:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 untrustworthy; one cannot trust a Mandara.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 too inclined towards sorcery, pride, and domination.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 However, the Mandara (Moulgoi) would be too immersed in the practice of their religion. At the end of the workshop, participants shared what they had learned and felt.<\/p>\n<p>For some, the discussions taught them humility and compassion for others, and how to be gentle and strategic when working with young people.
