Partner organizations from the Civil Peace Service Network (CPS) have advanced actions to strengthen CPS partners’ institutional capacity to mobilize resources, enhance accountability, and remain relevant and sustainable in an evolving funding landscape, following a two-day capacity-building training on resource mobilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, from May 7 to 8, 2026, CPS Network Partners, among other actions, planned to replicate the sustainability training to other staff of their organization, strengthen visibility, engage new donor partners, and collaborate with the network partners on specific areas of interest, including financial management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The actions also include conducting institutional assessments of their departments, completing their strategic plans, strengthening collaboration and partnerships with key donors, and increasing their organizations’ visibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Civil Peace Service (CPS) Liberia Network Coordinator, Madam Decontee E. George, emphasized that the training was tailored to improve participants\u2019 knowledge of resource mobilization strategies beyond conventional funding sources from donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madam George further stressed the importance of innovation, self-reliance, and strategic planning in today\u2019s evolving funding environment, noting that organizations must explore diverse approaches to sustaining their programs and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On day one, the training focused on the decline in financial support to organizations in Liberia, shifting donor priorities, an assessment of emerging threats and opportunities, funding diversification, internal resource mobilization, stakeholder mapping, and donor engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilitators also focused on financial accountability and strategic planning, the diversification matrix, risk and effect analysis, and the audit readiness toolkit, among other topics on capacity building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the close of the training, participants thanked CPS and Bread for the World for the training support to enhance their capacity on resource mobilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
