décembre 4, 2018Je suis l’ambassadeur du Rwanda en RDC.
J’aime faire découvrir le Rwanda à tous mes amis qui n’ont pas assez d’interactions avec les habitants des mille collines. C’est comme ça qu’on appelle le Rwanda. Pour moi, c’est un pays si beau, si calme et si accueillant.
Certains de mes amis regardent les Rwandais comme des ennemis. Les mots sont parfois durs. J’entends des phrases comme les suivantes : « Ils nous tuent, ils nous agressent, ils pillent les minerais ».
Je ne suis pas en fait l’ambassadeur officiel du Rwanda, c’est un titre flatteur que je me donne moi-même. J’aime le moment quand mes amis congolais disent : « J’ai passé un bon moment au Rwanda. On y revient prochaine encore ? »
Dernière fois j’ai traversé la frontière avec 5 jeunes amis journalistes de la ville de Beni, du territoire Mutwanga et de Masisi à l’est du Congo. Nous avons fait un peu du tourisme. Je visais qu’ils découvrent le côté positif du Rwanda.
Ozee NZolene de Mutwanga ne cessait de se prendre des photos sur la plage au lac Kivu à Gisenyi, la ville rwandaise juste à côté de Goma, la capitale de la province Nord Kivu au Congo. Sur notre chemin de touriste nous avons demandé à plus d’un passant : «Prenez nous une photo, c’est beau ici». Mon collègue Bernard Muke était impressionné par Gisenyi. Il s’est demandé : « Qu’est ce qui manque chez nous pour rendre le pays aussi agréable? »
Une amie journaliste de Beni, Mapendo Lenganaiso, m’a dit : « Je reviens dans deux semaines. Je viendrais te visiter et passer un moment au Rwanda».
Pour moi la mission était réussie. « Ils vont repartir avec des bonnes images qu’ils vont peut-être partager avec leurs amis », me disais-je.
En fait, moi je vis au Rwanda depuis 3 mois pour des raisons personnelles. J’avais aussi des préjugés sur les Rwandais. Mais grâce à des rencontres et stages avec les voisins j’ai appris à les connaître et vivre avec eux.
Un jour je voudrais que nous vivions Rwandais et Congolais comme deux peuples sœurs qui s’aiment et profitent des opportunités que ce voisinage offre sans se méfier. C’est bon pour l’économie, la sécurité… ; bref notre bien-être et développement en dépendent aussi.
Au début de l’année j’ai aussi fait visiter mes 2 collègues du service civil pour la paix. C’est un engagement des organisations de développement et du ministère de développement en Allemagne. Eux, Lambert et Prudence, vivent à plusieurs centaines des kilomètres du Rwanda. Je me sens toujours bien quand je vois plusieurs mois après notre visite que Prudence met sur son statut whatsapp un texte beau sur le Rwanda. Il est du genre « moment inoubliable au Rwanda».
Mais je comprends aussi la méfiance de certains Congolais envers le Rwanda. L’histoire de ces deux pays est une histoire avec des périodes violentes. Toutefois, certains rapports de l’organisation des nations unies avaient documenté l’implication proche ou lointaine du Rwanda dans le soutient de certains groupes armés en République démocratique du Congo. Mais est-ce que ce n’est pas le temps à surmonter le passé et construire l’avenir ?
