NTUI AGBOR Oben, one of the Regional Coordinators of the CPS Program in Cameroon.

Presently, we are having an annual workshop in Bana for 8-12 June 2026. During the annual workshop, it is an opportunity for us to come together and look at what we have been able to achieve and what we are doing for the year, while also enabling us to plan for the future.

So far, we are looking at the development of the new CPS Program, but before developing the new CPS Program, we have to look back on what we have been able to achieve and the lessons learned from the current program, which started in 2024 and runs until 2027. However, for now, we are focusing on the period from 2024 to 2026 because we are yet to get to 2027.

We have been able to achieve many things in the areas of women empowerment, social cohesion, youth engagement, and peacebuilding in general. Through partner organizations, we have been able to promote social cohesion in different communities. Partners have worked in communities, worked with refugees, and worked with IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons), and this has been a great achievement in ensuring that communities live together peacefully.

There has been a reduction in hate speech thanks to our engagement in the community. This is a very big achievement and a significant progress that we have made so far. Looking at the progress reports for the 2024–2026 period, much has been accomplished.

Again, we have also achieved many things in the area of women empowerment. We have a project for women empowerment where women have become notables thanks to our engagement and the efforts of our partners, notably our father and other partner organizations. Women have now become notables in the northern regions of the country. This is a very big achievement. Women are being empowered, and activities are being organized in different regions of the country through our project.

Young people are also being trained and educated. We have the peace education project, where we examine what peace education is, how young people can be involved, what they can do, and how we can change the narrative from a violent community and violent society to a peaceful one.

So far, so much has been done, and much has been achieved as far as our 2024–2027 projects are concerned.

Your project work, is it a continuation of your activities for 2024 to 2027?”

Yes, we are yet to develop a new program for 2028–2030. So far, we are still looking at what we will be able to do and the direction we want to take. We cannot say for certain at this stage that we will work on a specific area. It is only at the end of this year that we will know clearly what we want to do. But for now, we are still deliberating, discussing, reviewing, and thinking together about the direction we want to take.
