INTERNATIONAL COLLOQUIUM FROM 15 TO 17 DECEMBER 2021 AT THE PROTESTANT UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL AFRICA (UPAC) – YAOUNDE

From December 15 to 17, 2021 was held at the Protestant University of Central Africa (UPAC) the International Colloquium on the theme: ”NON-VIOLENCE, PEACE, DEVELOPMENT SINCE AFRICAN INDEPENDENCE”.

On December 15, 2021, the Colloquium begins at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and a meditation said by the Chaplain on the basis of Psalm 85. Then, the opening word of the Rector of UPAC, Reverend. Pr. BOUBA MBIMA who expresses his sincere thanks to all the organizers, guests, panelists and participants in this event. In addition, he presents the objectives of the symposium to promote the Negro-African culture of peace, to highlight the non-violent approach of the Nobel Peace Prize winners, the valorization of the forgotten Africans and others of non-violence and the evaluation of the contribution of violent and non-violent African independence to the development of the continent.

This will be followed by the dedication of the proceedings of the October 2020 conference by the Rector of UPAC, assisted by the President of the Scientific Organizing Committee, crowned by a family photo rich in emotions.

The colloquium in its quintessence had as its inaugural lesson: “DID NELSON MANDELA DESERVE A CHAIR FOR NON-VIOLENCE AT UNIVERSITY AND AT UPAC?” presented by Reverend Dr. SIMON BOLIVAR NJAMI –NWANDI. This will be followed by presentations and debates on themes that are quite poignant and rich with regard to the scientific community represented. Several main axes have constituted sub-themes presented by teachers from all over Cameroon.

Thus, we can cite as main axes: Axis 1, the African roots of non-violence whose moderator was Pr. Daniel ABWA, Axis 2, the non-violent strategies of African Nobel Peace Prize whose moderator was Pr. MISSE MISSE, then Axis 3, the forgotten Africans and others of non-violence with Pr. LAURENT CHARLES BOYOMO ASSALA and Pr. TAGOU CELESTIN, Axis 4 as moderator , violent and non-violent African independence: which are the most favorable to the development of post-independence Africa? With Pr. CHRISTIAN BIOS NELEM as moderator and to end Axis 5, How can non-violence become the panacea for the solution of the problems of the contemporary world with a view to its competitive development? With Pr. MOLNANG, Pr. CHARLES ELOM NNANGA, Pr. ADA DJABOU, Pr. BLOSSOM as moderators. N. FONDO. These were very edifying moments because the panelists present captivated the attention of the participants and enriched the scientific knowledge of the students.

The symposium ended on Friday, December 17, 2021 with a closing ceremony
