This is the 7th ongoing series of global ‘dialogues’ on community media in the post-pandemic world. Farm Radio International (RRI) and Fondation Hirondelle organized this online discussion session to assess the services provided by community stations during this pandemic period in their areas.

For Coracon, according to its coordinator, KAKULE VAGHENI Jacques: “Community radios in North Kivu have played a key role in this period when the whole world is hit by Coronavirus. They have produced radio programs that sensitize members of the community to the dangers of Covid-19 and the behaviors to adopt in order to overcome this disease. »

The UNESCO Chair was attended by the following speakers:

  • Sylvie Jacqueline Panika Benguere, République Centrafricaine, directrice de Radio Ndeke Luka ;
  • Martin Faye, Mali, Représentant national, Fondation Hirondelle
