Community Initiative for Sustainable Development (COMINSUD)
The Community Initiative for Sustainable Development (COMINSUD) is a development organization created in 1996 that works to empower communities to achieve their development goals, with a vision of a responsive society where good governance practices and human rights are upheld for sustainable human and environmental development. COMINSUD has developed expertise for over 26 years in the areas of grassroots political empowerment, social inclusion, sustainable agriculture and environmental management, good governance, information dissemination, and humanitarian peace work.
Since 2004, COMINSUD has been involved in the Civil Peace Service program, in which it strengthens its commitment to socially excluded groups, especially young and middle-aged people, particularly under the coordination of Bread for the World. Working intensively in the North West region of Cameroon, COMINSUD has been involved in the resolution of inter-tribal/community land and border conflicts and natural resource management conflicts between farmers and herders. In 2016, the dynamics changed with the urgency of an armed conflict with non-state armed groups fighting for the creation/recognition of an independent nation composed of the Northwest and Southwest regions. COMINSUD has promoted the nation of a just and peaceful society through the values of positivity, equality, inclusion, tolerance and non-violence in a humanitarian context that has resulted in more than five thousand people and plunged tens of thousands into untold suffering.
In the humanitarian context, COMINSUD is among the frontline actors working in the Northwest and West regions and has reached more than 500,000 people with its direct interventions since 2018. It has a partnership with WFP for general food distribution, nutrition and cash assistance; with UNFPA to implement life-saving interventions on gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health for IDPs; with UNICEF on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and nutrition; with NRC on non-food items (NFIs); and with GOPA-Health Focus on psychosocial support to IDPs.

The Continuing Education Program (ISTP)
The ISTP is an educational partnership program of two Protestant churches in Cameroon: the Presbyterian Church of Cameroon (PCC) and the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC). ISTP - Cameroon, offers quality on-the-job teacher training that follows a reflective, active, learner-centered and participatory pedagogical orientation across the early childhood, primary and secondary school system; an approach rooted in the Protestant school character of empowerment, openness and social justice of learners. We believe that our society, which is rapidly evolving in complexity, plurality and globalization, needs people with high self-esteem, with adequate skills to face the realities of daily life; people who are responsible for claiming their individuality in a cooperative and competitive environment; people with God-fearing values, ensuring social equity in a respectful, yet autonomous and democratic spirit. We therefore place the learner at the center of the learning process in our interventions. Our teacher training is based on skill development in problem solving, creativity, individual reflection, and inquiry into social and cognitive dimensions. We want to stand out as one of the most reliable, effective, efficient and professional teacher training programs in Africa in the aspects related to the quality of education. We are results-oriented and work as a team, with a cooperative and committed spirit; believing in positive change and operating in a positive climate environment. An added value to our success is the integration of gender, environmental awareness, peace/social justice and democratic practice in all our interventions.
