April 11, 2022DRC: Closing of the month of women
61 women and 18 men closed Women’s Month by reflecting on the theme: “I am a woman, I have to assume myself”. This under the lead of the Dynamique Femmes et Familles du Kongo Central, DDF in acronym.
A conference has been organized. At the end of these exchanges, the DFF wanted to celebrate International Women’s Rights Day by exchanging with these 79 participants on the history of this day, to raise awareness among young people and women on the non-violent claim of their rights but also to capitalize best practices.
Some presentations on the theme “Woman do you know your indented? ; Develop the potentials that GOD has given you and avoid skipping the steps that can make you vulnerable were at the center of the exchanges.
The module on “Develop your God-given potentials” was developed by Madame Eddie NZINGULA MVUTU, Woman Leader and Urban Secretary of the Women and Family Department of the Evangelical Community of Congo, the 23rd community of the Church of Christ in Congo (ECC/23èmeCEC) in the city of Matadi. She demonstrated to the participants how habits and customs, ignorance, underestimation, fear, lived or suffered realities in life such as vulnerability, early pregnancy, divorce, death of her husband , multifaceted violence can be the causes that hinder the enhancement of female potential.
To develop oneself according to the speaker of this presentation, one must know oneself, detect the potentials/gifts that one possesses and use them wisely, assert oneself through good concrete and tangible achievements, avoid underestimation and defying fear, having self-confidence and discerning the culture or custom of the environment in which one finds oneself.
The participants testified that the theme is very challenging for women and that it is necessary to: “Continue to raise their awareness” and propel those who want to move forward with dignity.
The Dff believes that in the next step it will raise awareness of its different notions among girl students who are members of peace clubs, integrate its different notions into the learning of young people, organize days of reflection, organize a forum with women leaders of the province of Kongo Central and duplicate these different notions in language to direct targets at the base.
The DFF is an organization of the Church of Christ in Congo in the province of Kongo Central in the Democratic Republic of Congo which is committed to awakening the conscience of the population to participate actively in the process of the development of our country.< /p>
